Basic Pasta Sauce

Basic Pasta sauce. Upgrade it with chopped onion or other vegetables.

  • 1 clove Garlic 1 clove
  • 1 can (28oz) Organic Crushed Tomatoes 794 g
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning 2 tsp


  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Spray with cooking spray. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in the canned diced tomatoes and seasonings.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly and the flavors meld together.
  • While the sauce is simmering, cook your pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  • Once the sauce is done, taste and adjust seasoning if needed. If you prefer a smoother sauce, you can use an immersion blender or transfer it to a blender to puree until smooth.
  • Serve the sauce over cooked pasta and garnish with fresh chopped basil leaves.
