Seared Soy& Ginger Ahi Tuna Steaks

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz wild ahi tuna steak each is usually 4 oz

Marinade Mix

  • 30 gram/ml soy sauce
  • 4 gram/ml sesame oil
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 3 gram hot sauce such as sirracha
  • 0.25 tsp ginger spice

Instructions
 

  • Combine all sauce mix ingredients
  • Pour marinade over tuna
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high
  • Spray with non-stick spray and add the tuna
  • Cook for:
    1½ minutes on each side for medium rare
    2 minutes on each side for medium-well
    2½ minutes for medium-well to well
    Temperature ranges for tuna steaks:
    Rare: up to 100 degrees F
    Medium Rare: 100 – 120 degrees F
    Medium: 120 – 130 degrees F
    Well: over 130 F

Notes

 
The FDA recommends that most seafood should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F.
