Spicy Glazed Tofu

Spicy Glazed Tofu

The chili sauce gives a spicy flavor and the sweetness from hoisin sauce balances out the spice in this perfect combination.

  • 200 gram Tofu Extra Firm
  • 15 ml Less Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 15 gram Chili Paste
  • 5 gram Hoisin Sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ginger


  • Press the tofu.
  • Slice tofu into thin slices, either lengthwise or crosswise.
  • Mix all ingredients except tofu into a small bowl. Cover tofu slices with the mixture and place in the fridge to marinate for 30 minutes or an hour if you have the time.


  • Preheat oven to 400 F. Bake tofu slices in the oven on a parchment covered cookie sheet for 20-30 minutes, flipping once.


  • Heat up a skillet over medium-high and coat with non-stick spray or sesame oil. Cook tofu slices for 5 minutes on each side.
  • Serve in a salad, as the main entree, or in sandwiches.
