Green Beans & Chicken Stir-Fry

I love this dish at Panda Express. Now I also love making it at home. This dish has double the protein for the same amount of calories as the one at Panda Express.

  • 450 gram chicken breast
  • 8 gram cornstartch
  • 6 gram sesame oil
  • 400 gram green beans
  • 140 gram onion

Sauce

  • 60 gram/ml soy sauce – less sodium
  • 34 gram/ml hoisin sauce
  • 15 gram/ml Rice Vinegar
  • 30 gram/ml rice cooking wine

Instructions

  • Cut the ends of the green beans. Cut onion into squares or wedges. Mince the garlic and ginger. Set aside.
  • Chop chicken into bite-size pieces, I like to do mine into thin strips or squares
  • Mix sauce ingredients into a small bowl set aside.3.
  • Coat chicken in cornstarch and sesame oil. Pan-fry over medium-high heat until it is done, about 5 minutes. Setaside on a plate.
  • Add green beans and onions into the pan and cook until crunchy, 4-5 minutes.
  • Add chicken and sauce. Cook, until heated throughout and the sauce, has thickened.

Notes

Serve with rice and steamed veggies. If you do not have rice wine you can substitute it for dry sherry, sake, dry white wine, or white grape juice. I’d recommend purchasing rice wine for a flavor similar to Panda Express.
