English Muffin with Egg White & Cheese

Less than a dollar (only ยข55!) to make your own Egg White Delight McMuffin. Homemade tastes better and is healthier for you! Look for low-calorie store-brand English muffins such as sourdough or whole wheat light English muffins.

Another tip is to add Hormel Canadian bacon, center cut from pork loin – 20 calories per slice

English Muffin with Egg White & Cheese

Microwave your egg white for a quick breakfast or lunch. For more protein add a slice of turkey sausage or ham!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 english muffin (110 calories) I use signature select sourdough
  • 1 eggwhite (17 calories)
  • 1 slice cheese (35 calories) I use velveeta

Instructions
 

Eggwhite

  • Microwave:
    Pour the egg white into a microwave-safe dish that is the same size as the muffin. Add salt and pepper if you want. Microwave for 30-90 seconds depending on your microwave.
    Pan-fry
    Spray nonstick in a pan over medium-high heat. Place an egg ring into the pan and pour in the egg white. Add a tablespoon of water to the pan, cover, and let cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Toast the muffin.
  • Assemble the muffin with egg white and cheese

Notes

12 grams of protein each serving!
Serve with a cup of soup or salad. Goes well with sliced tomato and a bit butter as well.
You can also use a bagel thin, sandwich thin, or bread instead of a muffin.
